You will collaborate with the Systems Software Manager to design, enhance and implement enterprise-class IS projects which comprise our production architecture. You will also work with subject-matter experts to design effective, innovative solutions to meet business needs.
The Role
* Programming database applications, Utilising full-lifecycle development methodologies.
* Create database schema (tables/integrity constraints/triggers/procedures) based on application requirements.
* Assist with administrative maintenance of relational databases.
* Assist with ad-hoc reports if needed.
* Create Scripts to generate derived data on the fly.
* Create reliable project effort estimates, identifying and implementing complex subsystems
* Create technical documentation, maintaining design and programming guidelines
* Perform, design and code reviews
* Evaluate and recommend 3rd party solutions based on cost benefit analysis for their use Skills and experience
* Experience in MS SQL Server programming and implementing/developing relational database applications.
* Good understanding of database principles, design, normalisation, stored procedure, joins, pivot queries, and TSQL.
* Experience creating DTS/SSIS packages for data integration (export/import for other sources), data maintenance, and data cleansing.
* Strong ability and background in object oriented programming using .NET/C# with a focus on database applications for data entry, data collection, data migration and data analysis using ASP.NET/Win Forms and XML.
* Basic database administration (DBA) skills including backup/recovery, schedule jobs, problem diagnosis and performance tuning, database capacity planning, replication, and other distributed data issues.
* Good computer science / software engineering degree
* Based in Clients London office but with ability to travel

My client's technologies can reduce CO2 emissions from electricity networks and contribute to resilience and security of supply. The technologies are suited to implementation in domestic refrigeration, hot water heaters, air-conditioning units and commercial refrigeration loads.
