Principal Web Developer (JavaScript Guru) | Permanent | Leading Media Brand | Manchester

Our client is a first class world leading media company. They require a Front End Engineer who specialises in JavaScript to join their tech team. As the front end dev you will be able to work on some of the most exciting media projects that will be delivered across Desktop, Mobile, Tablet and Connected TV. You will help shape the technical implementation of the products, and shape delivery that will have a major influence in the industry sector.

Technical Skills/Knowledge
*Industry leading skills and experience in the following:
*HTML,
*CSS,
*XSLT,
*Object-oriented JavaScript, including the use of Ajax techniques and libraries such as Dojo, YUI and especially JQuery
*Strong experience of multi-browser issues (building for desktop and tablet displays)
*Experience of web development processes and application design
*Experience in project management and/or project-based working, including an understanding of Agile development techniques and test-driven development (Leadership)
*Experience of supporting, modifying and maintaining systems developed by 3rd parties
*Experience of working with code repositories (e.g. SVN) and bug tracking tools (e.g. Trac, JIRA)
Key Responsibilities
*Managing, Mentoring and coaching of less experienced members of the team
*Lead technical design and build of all front-end components, such as presentation, templating, client-side behaviour and integration to data services
*Lead development of innovative products by exploiting new technologies and platforms or by bringing new functionality to older platforms
*Mentoring and coaching of less senior/experienced Web Developers, including code reviews
*Drive best practice through definition and enforcement of coding guidelines

*Up to £50,000 basic plus fantastic benefits
